What a lamport is

A lamport is the smallest unit of SOL, named after Leslie Lamport. All on-chain balances, fees and rent are stored as u64 lamports; SOL is only a display unit. LAMPORTS_PER_SOL in every SDK equals 10⁹.

Avoid floating point

0.1 + 0.2 !== 0.3 in JavaScript. Convert user input to lamports with integer or BigInt math (as this tool does) before building a transaction, and only convert back to SOL for display.
