Tool
Address validator
Is it a valid Solana public key? Is it a wallet or a PDA? What is deployed there? Three questions, one paste.
What makes a Solana address valid
A Solana address is a 32-byte ed25519 public key encoded in base58. Valid addresses are 32 to 44 characters and never contain 0, O, I or l. Validation alone does not prove an account exists; that requires an RPC lookup.
On-curve vs off-curve
Wallets and keypairs are points on the ed25519 curve. Program derived addresses are deliberately chosen to be off the curve so no private key can ever sign for them; only the owning program can, via invoke_signed. If you expect a PDA and the tool says “on curve”, your derivation is wrong. See the PDA tool.
Account types you will see
- Wallet: owned by the System Program, no data.
- Token account / mint: owned by SPL Token or Token-2022.
- Program: executable flag set, owned by a loader.
- Data account: owned by some program, holds its state.
