“Transaction results in an account with insufficient funds for rent”
After the transaction, an account would be left with a balance below its rent-exempt minimum. The runtime rejects this up front.
Common causes
- Sending almost all SOL out of a wallet, leaving less than ~0.00089 SOL (890,880 lamports).
- Creating a new account with too few lamports.
- Paying rent for a new ATA (≈0.002 SOL) when the wallet is nearly empty.
How to fix it
- Leave at least the rent-exempt minimum in every account. Use the rent calculator on this site for exact numbers.
- If you want to empty a wallet, transfer
balance − feeonly if the account is being closed; otherwise leave the minimum.
